CHIP Hospital, always on the leading edge of technology, has started implementation of Apple‘s IPAD in its daily routine. Now CHIP‘s doctors and nurses can annotate, graph, access and process medical images, enter data, check status…, from anywhere in the hospital without the need to be in front of a computer.

The system adaptation has been developed by Kanteron Systems, who has added bar code scanning and medical use cameras, further enhancing the iPad‘s possibilities. Kanteron has also automated some healthcare routines, saving caregivers time and errors and furthermore making possible considerable savings to the Hospital System and a better care for the patients.

Apple‘s iPad is the perfect equipment to make the paperless hospital a reality, as published by The Washington Post 17 months ago: an ample and high definiton screen, light weight, long-lasting battery, ease of use, integrated keyboard, made of steel and glass (ideal for healthcare environments), WiFi… After the successful pilot test, CHIP awaits the arrival of all ordered iPads to extend this application to the daily routine, pioneer in Spain.
